Italian food: why is it so special?
Do you love Italian cuisine?
Thanks to its variety of ingredients, Italian food is famous all over the world. But what makes it special?
Firstly, the quality. Ingredients such as wheat, olive oil and fruit are produced according to strict safety rules.
Afterwards, the simplicity: Italian dishes are tasty despite the absence of an advanced culinary experience. This type of cuisine is a feature of Italian culture: the majority of the meals are homemade, respecting the local traditions.
Pasta is the most popular italian specialty. Lasagna, cannelloni, tagliatelle and spaghetti are just some of the most well-known pasta dishes.
However, this country is also famous for its pizzas, meatballs, parmigiana, and many seafood dishes.
Even if the Northern Italy is full of local traditions, the Southern Italy is the best area in terms of healthy food: the consumption of legumes, fruits, vegetables and fish with the moderation of meat and milk constitutes the perfect Mediterranean diet. It is a modern symbol of good alimentation, which has Italy as the main promoter but it also includes other countries of the Mediterranean area such as Greece, Spain and Portugal. This type of alimentation reduces the risks of cancer and chronic or cardiovascular diseases.
