How long can live a mosquito?

In summer, but now also in the fall and spring,  come many mosquitoes, which buzzes and stings with torment us every night. But how long can live mosquitoes?
The species of mosquito are many, the most common is the Culex pipiens, and the duration of their lives depends on many factors: the environmental conditions, the temperature, the mosquito sex (females live longer, while males die after coupling), however the mosquito life cycle is very short from a minimum of a few days to a maximum of a few months, more and more often, however, we find them in the house all the year. The general characteristic of this insect is  the advanced capabilities of their mouth, only present in females, to sting other animals and harvesting their vital fluids, rich in useful proteins to feed the eggs. This, however, involves great problems both for the man and for pets, in fact, the mosquito can transmit bacteria able to significantly contaminate, it is the first carrier of malaria.
